For The Record 1.5.0.0 with Argus, released!

Version 1.5 of For The Record has been released.

The main focus of this release was to add our own implementation of what we like to think of as a rock-solid recorder/tuner solution: code-named Argus.

We announced the release of this version on the 1st of May a few weeks ago, and we're making good on that promise! :-)

The download and a detailed list of changes can be found on the forum.

For The Record 1.5.0.0 with Argus. Coming soon...

After several months in the working we are proud to announce the release of our recorder/tuner project!

Mark May 1st on your calendars. This day will see the release of For The Record 1.5.0.0, now with built-in Argus recorder/tuner for your DVB-C, DVB-T, DVB-S or ATSC/QAM recordings.

May 1st is labor day, so this can be a testament to the amount of work we put into Argus :-) This will be the first public release of Argus, so we certainly won't claim it will be perfect for everyone's needs, but we do hope it will pleasantly surprise you and that you will help us to improve it and For The Record further for future upcoming releases.

Along the way ...

Greetings,

In our previous update we shed some light on the path that we would be walking in the months to come. As expected it has been a busy winter for us, but with those tough times behind us we are proud to say that we are finalizing and preparing the first public beta of Argus, our very own recorder/tuner!

Where we are, and where we are going...

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since we promised to shed some light on the future development of For The Record. With version 1.4 released we are convinced that our recording scheduler includes all essential functionality it should contain. Sure there may still be corners that could be improved, or functionality that could be added, but essentially we think we have developed a very powerful scheduler with a very rich feature set and a lot of extension possibilities. That done we can focus on other areas that can make For The Record shine even more, and that brings us to the question: what's next ?

For The Record 1.4 Released

Version 1.4 of For The Record has been released.

The main focus of this release was to add full support for radio channels and teletext, and support MediaPortal 1.0.2 (and 1.0.1).

But a lot more was added: a new full-blown EPG grid in the Management Console, even more powerful scheduling (AND/OR/NOT), a much nicer status tray tooltip, a more powerful IM-Bot, automatic thumbnails, much faster remote access,...

The download and a detailed list of changes can be found on the forum.

For The Record 1.3.3 Released

Version 1.3.3 of For The Record has been released.

This is a maintenance release with a very strong focus on improving performance. Some of the more complex rules are now up to 30 times(!) faster than before. More common things will be quicker too: browsing the TV guide, popping up the mini-guide,...

We also improved the setup to automatically install the .NET 3.5 SP1 framework for you if needed. And to install Web Access on the built-in Cassini web server (much easier than having to configure IIS beforehand).

And of course some small new features too: support for logical channel numbers (LCNs), a disk-usage indicator in the MMC,...

The download and a detailed list of changes can be found on the forum.

For The Record 1.3.2 Released

Version 1.3.2 of For The Record has been released.

This is a maintenance release but we added some useful new features and enhancements as well: a larger EPG in Web Access, live TV streaming over UNC, custom recording file name paths,... The download and a detailed list of changes can be found on the forum.

IMPORTANT: If you intend to use MediaPortal TV server as recorder/tuner we recommend you use the final 1.0 release (although RC4 and RC3 will work as well).
